What
is IndianaNEXT?
The
mission of IndianaNEXT is to provide Indiana principals and superintendents,
from public and private schools, high quality leadership development
experiences and an understanding of the power of technology to
support systemic change in their schools and districts. IndianaNEXT
is funded in part by grants from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation
and the Christel DeHaan Foundation.
Description
Approximately
1200 adminstrators will have the opportunity to participate
in this 5-day year-long program that begins with a 2-day
kick-off or one-day "get on board" event. During
Spring, 2005, interested administrators can join IndianaNEXT
through an online workshop -- click
here to learn more.
IndianaNEXT
is built on the model of the 5-day Principals' Technology
Leadership Training program but goes beyond PTLT to address
the role of technology to support school improvement. Following
the kickoff event, administrators will choose the additional
three days from regional workshops and online activities offered
throughout the school year. Individual Goal Action Plans will
guide participants in their selection of workshops and resources.
A $1,500.00 grant will be available to support participants'
completion of their GAPs. The year will end with a celebration
of accomplishments.
Requirements
The
applicant must be a licensed principal or superintendent and
serving in that position in a K-12 public or private school
in Indiana. The administrator should have a desire to learn
technology and commit to the full five days of the program.
Administrators are encouraged to attend in teams to increase
the program impact in their school corporations but this is
not required.
Recently,
the program has been opened to assistant principals and
assistant superintendents.
These administrators, however, are not eligible for the $1,500
grant. They will be allowed to participate in the program
to gain the technological knowledge and experience that
will
benefit their school.
Registration
Administrators
can register online at www.indiananext.org. Applicants will
pay a one-time registration fee of $150 with P.O. #. Hotel
and meals will be provided for the kickoff event.
