Kick-off events successfully launch IndianaNEXT!

Almost 1000 principals and superintendents have attended the eight IndianaNEXT Kick-off conferences from June, 2001 to July, 2003. The 2-day event provides valuable experiences designed to assist administrators in the utilization of technology for school improvement back in their schools and corporations.

Administrators explored the possibilities technology brings to schools: through online research, special presentations, and sharing with colleagues. They developed ideas for their Goal Action Plans (GAP) which they will complete during the school year--accessing resources, workshops, and online activities, as needed. Once the GAP is submitted, a $1500 grant provides funding to accomplish the specific goals identified in the GAP to support school improvement. Through e-mail and the class web site, cohorts from around the state will exchange ideas and provide encouragement throughout the program year.

Additional Kick-off conferences are scheduled for March 9-10 and June 28-29, 2004, in Indianapolis. Click here to see the agenda and to view a slide show from an earlier Kick-off.
